In California, we've had some major storms come through. There have been many waves of storms. We'll get some really wet weather and then it will dry up. As of right now, it's raining again. It was overcast and dreary this morning with no rain. Now it's raining again. Blech! We've had the sun peak through several times. I decided to just walk up and down the street while we had one of these breaks to take some pictures.
Holiday Lights
I guess it's technically not too early for holiday lights to go up. Personally, I like to wait until it is December. But since this holiday season started on Thanksgiving for many people, I guess it makes sense that people have put up lights already. I plan on taking more pictures of holiday lights as the season goes on. Enjoy!

Small Business Saturday
The Saturday after Thanksgiving has been deemed Small Business Saturday. It urges people to shop local, small businesses. Since Black Friday is usually dominated by the big retailers, this is a way to help put dollars back into your community. You can check it out here and here.
I went to a couple of my favorite Small Businesses here in Burbank. One of them is Rocket Fizz. They are a soda pop and candy shop. Each location is independently owned and operated. I got a few Sprecher sodas for the Packer game the next day. (They lost but that's another story.)
It was getting late and I wanted to make sure I hit up the next business on my list. House of Secrets is an AWESOME comic book shop. I wanted to pick up the next issue of WonderWoman and also pick up some issues of Bat Girl I did not have yet.

Holiday in The Park
The Magnolia Park section of Burbank has under gone some changes in the last few years. There was an actual group called The Magnolia Park Group, that was made up of merchants in the area. They sponsored many fun activities through out the year such as Beboppin in the Park, and Ladies Night Out. For some reason, they voted to disband as of Jan. 1, 2012. But it seems that many of the merchants really didn't want to dissolve the group. They've continued to do things. One of these events happened last night called Holiday in the Park. Lots of merchants were open and you could come in to shop. There were few classic cars and food trucks. And there was an awesome photo booth station by Queen of Hearts Vintage Event Photography. I had a fun time and got some good pictures as well!
